Smart Glove
Technological advancements have enhanced communication for people with special needs, including people who are deaf or hard of hearing, by overcoming language barriers and facilitating everyday interactions. The goal is to facilitate communication between deaf individuals and those who do not know sign language. Our proposed work focuses on developing a sensor-based smart glove and a React Native mobile application to convert sign language gestures into Arabic speech. The system integrates practical hardware such as flex sensors and accelerometers to detect hand gestures. The React Native application translates the gestures into Arabic speech via Bluetooth. The proposed system achieved an accuracy of 96%. The design is scalable for use in everyday and multilingual interactions, demonstrating a promising solution for deaf individuals and helping them to become independent and communicate in society.
